El Camino Adelante
El Camino Adelante (The Way Forward) serves as a place of transition for youth coming from institutions working toward independence. Located in Valle de Angeles, Honduras.
El Camino Adelante is an emerging ministry. It is a response to the need for a place to transition from life at an institution or children’s home to becoming a productive member of Honduran society. Harlan and Janelle Horst, who have served at La Finca de los Niños, a children’s home, for the past two years, are pioneering this ministry. There will be a focus on skills training, financial independence, and a continuing relationship with God.
The Horst’s will provide a family setting for the youth as they come from the home. As they learn and grow the youth will gain greater independence, acquiring their own apartment and job. The Horst's desire to provide a loving, caring context for the youth to make this difficult transition. Certainly this is “The Way Forward” for many of the youth they know and love.
