What is The Second Tunic?
The Second Tunic was founded in 2005 by Daryl & Mary Martin. It is a non-profit organization dedicated to caring for the needs of those serving and those they serve.
The Second Tunic is a Pennsylvania registered, non-profit organization. It is a 501(c)(3) tax exempt charity. Gifts to The Second Tunic are tax deductible.
Why Does it Exist?
We have found a need for an organization that will give support to Christian workers who are already serving but have little or no financial support, especially indigenous people serving in their own countries.
We have also found a need for teams to go and serve alongside existing and emerging ministries to offer encouragement and practical service.
Jesus taught us to care for the poor and the needy. We want to give of our abundance to help those in need. We find and support projects that benefit the needy and allow God’s love to be demonstrated in a practical way.
What is the Purpose of The Second Tunic?
To send and support individuals
and teams who come alongside existing and emerging ministries, giving assistance and encouragement.
To serve
with humility and compassion.
To share
generously both our abilities and resources.
Why Should I Care?
As the body of Christ, we are each called to care for our brothers and sisters.
On behalf of those who are serving and do not have adequate support, we invite you to support and encourage them as they labor for the harvest.
On behalf of those who are in need, we invite you to care enough to share.
It is our desire to offer you an opportunity to invest in the lives of others so that they might find new life in Christ and you might have the opportunity to lay up treasure where moth and rust do not destroy.
